Our keypad business focuses on growth markets, such as mobile phones, which account for approximately 60% of segment sales, as well as digital cameras, automobiles, computers, and medical equipment.
Our keypads for mobile phones are renowned for their design appeal and processing technologies, which enable them to be tailored flexibly to sophisticated design requirements. As such, Shin-Etsu Polymer is the industry leader, with a 25% share of the global market. In addition to domestic mobile phone manufacturers, we are expanding our business with prominent overseas companies, such as Nokia, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson, and around 70% of our keypads are produced overseas.
Demand is increasing for automobile-use keypads from the perspectives of maneuverability and safety. We are expanding our business by taking advantage of the high quality and technological prowess of our products.
